JukeBx 1.401

At long last the near-Vapour-ware JukeBx 1.4 has been released. JukeBx 1.4 can be downloaded from here. This version started out as a revision and a roll-up of several minor tweaks, but when we added the State-Change function we had trouble with reliability. JukeBx then was shelved for a while while...

Thanks for your suggestions. Can you add a colum that will show the notes that have been added to the alarms? Easily done. I would like to be able to view all of the columns in each view. Do you mean the existing ones? If so, you can; all the columns are there, they are just made small. You can re-s...

You can. In Options->Files you can select the location. Copy the data files (or the entire directory) to where you want, change the setting, and then restart.

Re: Obrut operation under VMWare

Trying to get a clue as to why that might happen. All I can think of is; 1. Misconfiguration of Obrut: Using VMem instead of the more useful PMem will completely change the results. 2. Dynamic memory / CPU resources: Are the VMs set to re-allocate memory or CPU load or is it constant? That can make...

GigAlarm 1.342

A new version has been released. This version is largely a bugfix , bugfix so if you aren't using 1.341 there's little need to install it, and even then there's no need. Why? GigAlarm 1.341 fixed the Windows 7 problem by only updating the icon text on demand; prior to this the text was updated whene...

We are using "5000,Most" for both CPU A and B and find that we do not have much of a release on CPU resources as we add multiple VMs running Obrut. I notice you are using levels like 800, 1500 etc. What is the difference do 800, 1000, 3000, 5000 make on the CPU consumption algortihm? So y...

QWave 1.6

This is just a minor revision to address a long filename issue and to bring things up to date.

You can download QWave 1.6 from here.

Obrut is quite abusive to the system, as per the design! When using the "PMem" setting it will take and keep the memory by constantly using it, and thus preventing Windows from paging it out. I haven't tested this via VMWare for a while, and I can't remember what version I used last. But I...

JukeBx 1.4 Beta 15

New Beta. This is the first Beta that's been labeled as finished, meaning that it could be released in the next week. The ReadMe has been updated and hopefully after a week of testing and tweaking JukeBx 1.4 will be complete.

Seems hard to believe...

JukeBx 1.4 Beta 14

There's a new Beta. It was found that the last Beta had trouble importing when things were slower than usual. (In this case a Atom Netbook over Wi-Fi.)

Re: JukeBx 1.4 Beta 11

At long last Beta 13 is here and it be found here . Import tests well in this version. JukeBx 1.3 imported 5500 songs fine(and much faster then 1.4 betas) Yes, that's not going to change as a lot more is done while importing, especially making a hash for the file. Hopefully this one imports well for...

GigAlarm 1.341

GigAlarm 1.341 can be downloaded from here. Just to clarify, this is a Windows 7 related bugfix. Even so, we have had a similar problem reported in the past which could be the same issue.

As you are working on new release of JukeBx I think it is a good time to add one more feature: support of lossless audio formats APE and FLAC. With increased storage sizes many people prefer to listen to the music in lossless formats. The next version will have a re-designed player that might suppo...

Re: JukeBx 1.4 Beta 12

But after i restarted JukeBx produces heavy cpu load and it is not building the playlist... Is it normal? No. Substantial tests have been done to avoid that very issue. It's possible that the DB is corrupted. Do you use any features such as "Minimum Play Rating" or the Offensive filter? D...

Forced Upgrade

I was busy checking my EMail yesterday morning when suddenly the world went dark. At first I thought Ragnarök had struck at last, but no, my computer had died. For about 2.5 years I've been using a Lenovo 3000 J110 7393 (Core 2 Duo E4300 1.8 GHz 2 GB RAM) and I've been rather happy with it. Early an...

JukeBx 1.4 Beta 12

I think that incorrect ratings(number of boxes) are shown in the top of window Yes, you're right; good spotting. :D I noticed that soon after it was uploaded and that change has been well tested now. What was happening was the rating data was being processed wrong (it was being double converted dow...

....additional to the above post. It's important to realise why I'm calling the two numbers Visible Rating and Rating Value. Visible Rating: This is the rating that is shown in most windows, and is the number that is worked back from when setting ratings. Rating Value: The real rating. This is the n...

JukeBx often closes unexpectedly and sometimes crushes. While playing? I never encountered that. For example: When i tried to import my music folder (containing ~6000 songs) it crushed each 600 tracks. That I have noticed! While testing a fresh install it kept failing during import. Also i didn't n...

JukeBx 1.4 Beta 11

Beta 11 is here and it be found here.

All outstanding noted bugs (and a lot more) have been fixed. All that is left is extensive tests of all functions, testing upgrades and the ReadMe. If all goes well it could be released this week.

JukeBx 1.4 Beta 10

New Beta! (The import routine should work now.)

Known issues

1. The State Change function doesn't work.
2. Upgrade. (It's always the last job.)

No, it's not. But upgrades haven't been tested either! I'm still looking into the import issue; this is a higher priority than an upgrade one.

I have tried this beta but can't get it to import the music... It says "Import Complete" but nothing is added to db. May be this part is not implemented in this version? Possibly. With Beta's the main functions are dealt with first, then the peripheral. The import function is for the most...

JukeBx 1.4 Beta 7

It's been a long time, but at last there is a new Beta. For the most part, the delays were caused by the addition of the AutoRate function . (Let this be a lesson of the dangers of last minute feature additions!) In short, adding the simple feature necessitated writing a cached database update funct...
