Recently, our server OS was upgraded and since that this program does not play MP3 files as alerts.
WAV files and even a MIDI file can be played, but not the MP3's as before.
Any suggestions on a possible solution?

It's hard to be sure. Can Windows Media Player play MP3s still? All of our programs that support MP3s do so by using the built in system support. Thus if WMP can play MP3s, Egg should be able to as well.

Is there any reason why you're using an older version? ( 1.591 is the current release.)

What OS is this?

OS is XP.
Yes, Windows Media Player is playing audio files just fine.
I use the older version because that's what I was given years ago and it works for me (until recently). I have another program that has an alert feature and it works. I'm just baffled by this.

Me too! MIDI and MP3 files are handled the same way so if one works the other should too. This could be a codec issue, but due to system variances, that really is just a guess.

My best advice is to try the newest version. What you are encountering could be a bug that was fixed in a latter version. Egg version 1.4 was released over 3 years ago after all.

What are the limitations of the downloadable latest version of the program?
